Kelantanese Lady in Baju Belah Labuh, circa 1908
The photograph was recorded as a portrait of Sati, the wife of Mat Dia, a gardener. She stands on a grassy bank, with a still river and far bank in the background. Her hair is in a neat bun, and she wears a long-sleeved check baju belah labuh with a set of three kerongsang ibu dan anak fastenings, a long scarf around her neck, and an ankle-length sarong.
